Yes, Krakauer is a new favorite of mine. A friend recommended I read Into Thin Air and it was one of the best books I've ever read. Now I'm hooked on anything Krakauer writes. I did see Into the Wild and loved it. Sean Penn did a great job with the movie. I'll read the book after I'm done with one of Krakauer's other books - Under the Banner of Heaven. Also excellent if you haven't read it.

I see you have The Breakfast Club in your movie listing - the quintessential 80's movie. One of those movies no matter how many times you've seen it you'll watch it again.

Ok, time to get back to painting...I have a portrait I need to finish by Friday.

Your work is awesome.  I love artist that try many different things and continuously try to create new things.  So many people try to tell me to stick to one title.  That makes no sense to me.  Oh well.  To each their own.  Keep up the awesome work.

You have great work. The organic colors and shapes of your abstract pieces are inspiring. I especially enjoyed "Serene Water" and "Flow".

I enjoyed your comments on my paintings. You're right, masks are intriguing in themselves. I love to take the strong characteristics which are innate in each of them and find ways to present them in a manner often contrary to their original intent....

Thank you very much. I find birds fascinating but portraits make people happy but are very hard for me.

Kara, Nashville has LOTS of galleries, more per capita than any other city!  Hard to believe.  Nashville Arts Magazine just published in their February 2008 issue their Annual Galleries Directory.  That is the perfect source for you to make decisions. A brief description, address, numbers, etc.

Very little of my work is saved small enough to post on this site, mostly because my CDs are for reproduction purposes making the files too big.  I have lots of fantasy pieces, animals domestic and wild, architecture, all available in originals, prints and folding note cards.  I really enjoy what I do.  You can see much more of it on my web site, www.fineartbynancyhilgert.com.

I've been readking Eckhart Tolle for some years, Candace Pert, Lynn McTaggart, the whole Secret "crew" and it's very essential to me.  I'm really into the science-spirit connection, the reality of thoughts become things (Mike Dooley, tut.com) and more.  Very potent.

Thanks for your visit to my page.   Nancy
