Anymore news about doing a show at the Union Street Gallery. Its 90 miles from me. I was thinking of heading up that way ( if it ever warms up) to take some of my work to show them. I would really be interested in showing my encaustic in their gallery. Any hints to succeed would be helpful

Hi James, thanks for the nice comments about my paintings!  to answer your question, most paintings take me a few hours, although commission paintings can sometimes take a week or more.

I did look at your art after reading your most recent blog, and its interesting to hear everyones different opinions. I dont think there is an exact 1 way of doing things that can apply to everyone but I have been searching for what will work best for me and I formulate that by seeing how other people do things.. then find my way. Your art is unique although I admit surrealism has always been hard for me to relate to but I can appreciate the skill involved in your technique.

Don't be silly, that didn't offend me at all. Just making conversation. Believe me, you would be hard pressed to do or say something to offend me.

I used to worry that my work didn't have an identity, but to me that's the fun of it...having people see a painting and say "I really like that" and then find out I did it and say "you did that too?!"

Hi James, thanks for saying hello,    Your art is intense..I wish I could better understand some of the symbolism....I always admire when an artist can use art to express a cause or an opinion!

hey james - thanks for the comment. I love color but I also love other mediums that incorporate graphical BW contrasts. I am a sociopolitical/religious nut as well. My printed works (woodcuts&linocuts) deal with similar imagery as your surrealistic commentaries. I totally dig your thought process. Keep it up - Jared
