I admire that you put yourself out there and offer no apologies.  Too many people are rooted in close mindedness and have no tolerance for anything other than their own beliefs or opinions.  Bravo for presenting the "less conservative" perspective ;o)

Hi James, thanks for the comments.  I use acrylic, but I've used oils in the past as well.  I like the fact that acrylics dry faster.  I have to say that your duck stamp painting struck me the most.  Even though I am a vegan, I still found it rather amusing.  Are the rhinos going to be a series like Cows on Parade?  I live in Louisiana and we have a bunch of Pelicans on Parade of sorts all around Lafayette.

Well, James, I would say your beautiful and compelling work embodies the surrealistic title way more than mine does!

I really enjoyed walking through your gallery...it is a savory experience!

Thank you for your complements on my tile work.
I have painted with watercolor and acrylic. Most of the painting I do now is faux finishing and mural painting. I have focused my business on creating functional art. I find that it's easier to sell art when it is presented as a home improvement project. I am also a fervent believer that living with good art enhances ones quality of life. Incorporating art into interior design seemed like a natural fit. I really enjoy the sculptural aspects of working with clay and glass. I must also admit that I am somewhat enamored with the notion that some of my pieces could be turned up as artifacts after the next ice age. Although this thought had nothing to do with the artistic direction I chose it is an entertaining idea. I am planning to do some painting this summer as soon as I finish my current commissions. I have created some 11 X 14 clay panels that I intend to use as my canvas.  We'll see how that turns out!

Your paintings are incredible and fantastic in the truest sense of the word. I love the sheep.

Hi James, thanks for your kind comments about my work!

To answer your question, I occasionally go to a  life drawing  session and then use my sketches to paint my nudes. Otherwise, I use my photographs. Let me know when you are coming to Australia, we live in a very beautiful part of the country, cheers, Lina
