Great photo!  Bright smile so cute!

I have to tell you I loved your last one.....it reminds me of all the photos I would take of beautiful scenes  only to find out when I developed them that one of my kids heads had some how gotten in the bottom corner...jumped into view just as I would snap the photo... ha ha....

Yep, that's a new portrait. Just finished it a couple days ago. I've done commission work...it's just that I've only recently done portraits. So far I like it. But ask me after I've done one that I really had a hard time with and you'll probably get a different answer : )

I'm looking forward to doing more abstract work next.

Happy painting today!

Thanks for the thumbs up on Storm...I like my photo, but it isn't dense enough for a giclee, so I am having
some of my best things shot, so when they sell, I am not in the position
I am in with White Pines...It is in FL and I only have a fuzzy little
thumbnail.

I also looked at K Jensens stuff...pretty nice eh?

She uses light, low contrast values for her backgrounds which allows the foregrounds to pop.  Since you have been compared to Wolf Kahn (one of the biggest supporter of the VSC, by the way) you might be interested to note that I discovered that he tends to rely heavily on secondary triads: orange green purple in his work.  He has some old work, dark images of rows of trees, which I am sure you would like as much as me.

Have a good day

Good morning!

Birthday, your birthday?...Happy happy then, going on 28.  What a time to make a wish then, right at bedtime.  That you are considering the VSC is no coincidence!

I put a study up me grappling with the atmosphere issue.  I would have said I was an intuitive painter too, but my intuition is vexingly slow to wake up and smell the coffee, so I find I have to grovel and crawl my way along with pitiful thoughts like..."hey, maybe I should try white."

Also I took "Summer Storm" to a new photographer today, after putting on a few finishing touches.  I posted the final version...Let me know if you like it as much as the first....Or, if the case may be, if I ruined it for you...
