I hope everything works out for you, teaching does seem to provide some sort of security. Good luck and definitely keep me posted.

I just emailed the dean of student affairs where I have been teaching continuing ed classes for 3 yrs asking to meet and interview for an undergraduate part time faculty position, I sure have balls!!!!! I need to find a part time, day time job and this is my first choice, second choice is private elementary schools but I do not have a masters,I suppose I could get that, I am not currently board certified but I can get that, I can list all the things I dont have, but when I list all the things and experiences I DO have I sure sound like someone I would want to hire! I am tired of being in a rut and I am healthy (after being sick for 2 weeks) so today I leave the black hole behind and dont care where I end up  but it wont be in a black hole, so there!

I just googled Craftproducers because I have never heard of them and it sounds to me like a mini Paradise City run by 3 people. Are you thinking of doing it? I have only done shows regularly with 2 organizations, Paradise City and the Marblehead Festival of Arts (www.marbleheadfestival.org) and the last outdoor show I did was a small local outdoor Labor Day art 'thing' and we had hurricane winds and rains. My tent leaks now and I decided to only do Paradise City shows and my newest enlightened thought is to teach more and show less, and thats all I know.

did you sell the painting for $100 or $950? that, is the question.. either way, a sale is a sale is a sale.

tomorrow morning I will add more flowers to my work in progress aka the self portrait from hell that brought me out of the black hole! stay tuned

its always upbeat when I hear from you, thanks for that. I am trying to learn my mac but am finding it fickle with web browsing although I love the graphic design features which is why I got the mac in the first place. I would have been in Rome this week, my kids were on spring break, and the last few weeks have been challenging on a personal level so not wanting to paint didnt even phase me. I am more concerned that I am out of touch and next saturday night I was asked to do a wet paint piece, a big summer art festival has its annual auction and they feature 3 artists who start and finish paintings during the auction and are then auctioned off... yours truly is one of the 3. I am probably going to just do a birch tree painting because that is mindless and fun for me and I dont want to feel pressure. I am also looking for more teaching work so I can have a paycheck in between the mystery of the art sale. We hear from Paradise City this week too... let me know what happens with you and that, I am never sure if I will get in until I hear from them although if I dont get into the fall show I think I will enjoy the break! Lets hope I send this message to you only once. wish me luck. Robin

hi greg, kleve's barn is down the road a mile or so (frog farm), it has been a inspiration for painting for a long time.  the mystery red really ain't no mystery at all...lots of layers of mixed color trying to get it right, rose madder, white, permanent rose, some gamblin ultramarine blue. a touch of some HOC misty blue and who knows what else, oh yeah, some gamblin radiant violet.  the secret is out now for all to read.  I wasn't sure I wanted to post this painting, because it ended up being a struggle and I don't know yet how I feel about it...still confused from the struggle I guess.  But my daughter (whose opinion I greatly value) loved it as is.  So there you go!

what up dude?  Haven't heard from you and hope you;re painting and enjoying the newness of spring, season of hope and color, which I now am paying attention to from the black hole I'm climbing out of.  Plein air painting and going back to basics are my plan for renewal. Everyone is so supportive; it's cool to be connected to kindred spirits. What's haking with you?

Thank you Greg for your really nice comments.....I do understand the comments you made about spirit and connecton...feel that is where I am right now..you know just letting things flow in and out, observing it all..the desire to make something of it will come....

I'm off to Nashville tomorrow for a weekend at the film festival and just to go around the local galleries...a friend from CA is presenting a film and another is coming to hangout with me... very excited for this....

Have a great one!

Yes, there will be an opening or whatever The TW wood gallery wants to do. You should come if you can, it would be great to have you there.  I guess it will be another memorial celebration for Professor hathaway.  I'm looking forward to it, but not the 2,000 mile drive to get him and the angel that is going up to main.
