Good point about checks and liability - your should write a blog.  Love the newest paint of the trees reflecting in the water.

About the scam I wrote of in the blogs:  I did eMail and say that I did not ship to South Africa (would need a London address), I would only accept a check for the amount of sale and would hold the painting until the check was cleared.  They did not answer me.  However, the dummies contacted me again with the same proposal using a different name.  I sent them the same answer and have not received a reply.  Got to be on your toes.

To answer your poll: When it comes to approaching a gallery, I have to visit the gallery as a looker and see the type of art they represent (will mine work with what they already have), is the sales staff professional and know their inventory, what kind of traffic comes in and does the gallery have a good location.  After that, I can call to find out who views new applicants and ask for an appointment.  I have been there so I can continue with confidence.  If they are open for an appointment, I dress professionaly, arrive on time and present a well compiled portfolio with a couple small originals.  I am sure to have copies that I can leave with them and business contact information.  Be a business person and don't waste their time or yours.     me

Hi Greg. Being the early riser that I am. it is my favorite part of the day. The water in my tibetan landscape painting does need some life and although I was working off a photo I am going to do what feels right rather than what is actually in the photo. Funny, I revisited your webpage on this site because the links you inserted in the note to me did not work and I remembered last time I visited your page I was caught by your location because Chester, Vt. is one of my all time favorite places (one town away from you). I have painted the Williams River, painted the fields and mountains near the river, and even have a few of my paintings in a cute little gallery/shop by the name of Serenity Now in Chester. I also have met a few artists that have studios in the Wollen Mill from doing the Paradise City shows. Small world.

Your paintings are wonderfully refreshing.

Hi, I got your message about my ebay poll and personally I do not feel original artwork should be posted on ebay but I wanted to see what other people's experiences were. I could see selling prints, but original paintings priced over $1000 I doubt would sell on ebay. I am not planning on using ebay but if I ever feel like I have too many prints and want to "unload" them I would consider it.

Hi,

Thanks for your message on my page. Wonderful work here, love your use of color! To answer your question about daily painting: I do work on larger pieces as well, and yes, it takes longer to complete them. On the up side, I really enjoy the discipline of doing the daily paintings and find it helpful for the larger work as well. If you like the idea, I would give it a try and see how you like it in practice. It took me about a month before I was comfortable painting on such a small scale, but now it comes naturally. Good luck. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hey Greg!

I had about two minutes to spare in mighty downtown Burlington today, so I checked out your show.  The place was packed, so it was hard to get close to any of them, but I plan to go again sometime soon.  It looked great!  Have you had any luck yet?  Are you going to apply to Arts Alive in April?

Greg-  Wow!  This is so cool-  Thanks so much for letting me in on this. I love stuff like this.  How old is the bus and how much time do you spend in this?  It makes me happy just looking at it.  Is that snow I see on the hood?  It has been so cold here in MN I am freezing- have to wear layers and layers until I can hardly move!  HA!   Thanks again for the view!   Deb
