Hi, thanks you for your kind words.

I too started with tv. John Nagy was drawing a silo..that's all I remember of that show I was young! then on the the old german man Bill Alexander I think his name was, he was Bob Ross's teacher... He had 'happy little grapes' and said 'if you vant da light..you need daker daker'.Fond memories. Just a ? Gerry, what are the blue stars on your page?

Hi Gerebear,

That's funny because my good friend calls me Marebear.  Thank you for visisting my sight and making me feel wellcome.  I'm really new at this kind of thing and didn't know how to reach out!  I love that you paint from nature, and Bob Ross was right.  I think I have created my whole title of painting just by paying attention to those "happy accidents"

I look forward to watching your progress.  You know what subject you like and that is half the battle.  Keep in touch, and have a great day!

OMG, how completely and utterly hilarious you are!!!  We love Bob Ross in our house...we often mention happy accidents!  LOL

Thanks for the compliment.  I sure appreciate it!

Keep doing what you do, ..I have always said, "I'm a future famous person"...I should probably rephrase, cuz it's still in the future!  ha ha ha

Hi Gerebear,

Thank you for the visit and generous comments.  I also watched a lot of Bob Ross and I agree wholeheartedly with his philosophy of painting what pleases you.  My experience has been that people are less interested in the painting as a thing than they are in it as a thing of passion, a thing that stirs the heart and soul.  So  I think that if you infuse your work with passion the value will grow and the attraction will come (unless you just stick the work in the basement).

Read other artists on marketing.  Read marketers on marketing.  Very useful if you want to sell your passion.

I like your work. It has passion.  I look forward to seeing more.  I would suggest that you ditch the dull grey background.  It is stealing from the presentation of your work. I would suggest putting the pic in the full frame or using a black background.  I have trouble taking pics of my paintings but there is a lot of material and suggestions on how to do it and how to use programs such as Photoshop.

Thanks again for the visit. Nice visits are always encouragement to do more.

Thank you for the comment!  Your work has a unique perspective that is great.  I really enjoy the "Horizon" piece.

Thank you for you comments on my gallery.  I have more at www.portraitwatercolor.com.

Your horizon piece is great.  I am amazed at the size you tackle - large pieces are hard to do, and your horizon piece truly shows the magic of watercolors.
