What a nice welcome to Scuttlebutt! You asked about my using acrylics...mostly just with water. When working plein air, I use a slo-dry medium mixed in, or a gloss medium for glazing/layering effects. I like to work fast and am trying to achieve the look of oil without dealing with the environmental/health effects of oils. When I do use them, I have water-based oils that I find to be a good substitute. I'd like to get more abstract in my landscapes and I am blown away by Neutral I and II. Beautiful.

Maine is a big place, Bar Harbor is big too.  Acadia could easily consume your entire stay. I spent a week on the island and saw only parts.  Great place to paint.   Cadillac mountain is nice for a view, and there is a nice walk near Bubble mountain with a place to swim.  You have a partial toll road and traffic in some places, but there is a lot to see.

It is hard to balance getting to see a place and touring through an area.  either way you will miss out on something.  I feel less is more sometimes.

Anyway, have some lobster and blueberry pie for dessert.

Your varying titles is interesting. I hop around titles too. I get bores easy and have too many ideas. Against all recommendations, I can't complete a cohesive body of work or a series of more than 2 or 3. "Golden Apples" is my favorite, by the way.

thanks. I mostly painted abstracts and about 3 years ago tried plein air painting and loved it. Now I am known as the plein air finger painter around here! AH! actually just recently sold one of my last brush pieces! All I have left now are the finger paintings. I am hoping to get my "wo-di" site updated soon. I have alot of work not on there and most of what is is sold! YEAH!!!
Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see more of your work!

really like the simplicity in your landscapes and use of color. Welcome!

That's pretty cool. I have never worked in gold leaf.  I have some stored someplace here in the studio, but, I would spend a good deal of time trying to find it-bought it along time ago.  Haven't used it.  But, your work looks like it has gold leaf in it - I like the combination of the gold and silver together.  Warm and cool side by side.  Now, I am on a mission to try and find where I put mine and to see what things I can make with it.   Thanks for the idea!
