Good evening. I am hoping that you might have some advice for a beginning artist.  I, too, love to paint water, primarily the sea.  I have only been drawing/painting for a couple years.  I am enrolled in several classes (drawing, perception, etc).  But have absolutely no clue on the basics of even how to enter a piece into a show.  Can you recommend a website or a book as a primer for the beginning artist.  Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your time.

I appreciate you looking and the kind comment about the landscape painting. It was kind of fun to paint.

I look forward to seeing more of your excellent work.

Thanks for adding me as a friend. I look forward to more postings in your gallery.  Our land is near Whitehall, about 60 miles west of Bozeman.  My son lives in Jackson Hole, Wy, and one daughter lives in Fort Collins, Co. Every time we're in the west we can't get over the appreciation of artwork and sculpture that is simply not as prevalent here in Maine.  I look forward to living in an area where art means more than going to Wal Mart and buying a print to put on the wall.  It's not that there aren't good artists here- it's simply an overall lower income level, or lack of understanding of the time that goes into an original piece of art, or a handmade item.   I will miss the ocean, but I would trade it for the mountains.

I agree that your time on the sea shows in your work. I too love the sea, and so admire your beautiful work.
