Your work is beautiful.  As far as retirement, I actually take care of my 2 grandsons, 21 months and 4 years old, so I don't know if the really qualifies as retired....   Like I tell my daughter, my worst day with the boys is better than my best day in the operating room.  Lots of time to go places, take photos and paint, though.  Nice to "meet" a fellow New Englander!
