What wonderful watercolors.  You have made them all seem so alive.  It was a pleasure to brouse through your gallery.

Thanks for your comment about the bear falls piece. I do struggle trying to paint layers of plants and trees. Too many greens to deal with. One of these days I hope to figure it out or learn from someone who has already figured it out.

Thank you for your comments on "The Rock". It actually is in Oregon–though I don't remember the name of the beach. Breathtaking experience! All I know is that it was somewhere near Portland. I visited there in 1991. It was fascinating to me I guess because it was so different from where I was raised. I'll never forget the sound of the waves–so powerful-to me a bit like the distant sound of many freight trains connecting cars! Enjoyed exploring the Columbia River Gorge as well. Gorgeous! Your work is beautiful–very expressive watercolor portraits! I like your entry about "First day in college Drawing." Brilliant!

The best way for you to learn about the AWA, Arizona Watercolor Association and the exhibitions is to visit their website http://www.watercolor.org.  I think you will find this a good place to take workshops and show your artwork.  - Ruthy

I studied with Ted about 3 years ago.  At the "WFWS" Western Fed show in Tubac I presented Ted with the best portrait/figure award.  I had my "Sea Captain" painting in that show too.  It just closed April 6th.

I live in Tucson.  Are you a member of the AWA?  I have a painting in the Spring members show now in Phoenix.  - Ruthy

Thanks for your comments.  Nice portrait work.  Makes me think of an artist friend's, Ted Nutall.  Do you know him.  He does workshops.  - Ruthy
