Oops, I didnt mean to be negative about TN...I love the Smokey mountains....It's just I'm a mountain girl...and having lived on 2 ocean coasts......Well, I'm so landlocked here in Memphis....and summers where it is 100 degrees for 2 months out of the year and killer mosquitos....ahhh...I'm a traveler too, when not in the physical..definitely in the dream world!!!!!

thank god no I'm not a TN native...originaly form Ohio, then the east coast then the west coast...After several years in Berkeley,CA...I rarely admit that I am from anywhere else.  Yea talk about views...The bay, The Pacific coast, the mountains...and then there are the people,  Yes!  very diverse...and of course California wines....  but , I have yet to get to SA... I've been studying a lot about the Shamans and healers and the masters who worked with the Ayahuasca vine.....I am working on plans to visit Machu Picchu...have been researching the 5 day hike up the mountains to the spiritual, mystical site...but I have read recently that it has become very popular and over crowded.....

Al, Great work!  I especially like your high contrast paintings!  Keep the art coming!

Yes!  I have definitely heard  oil eats canvas,  but the other beneficial thing to a first layer or primer is that it helps the actual work slide on much smoother...So quite a job you've done to apply the paint and have it absorb so quickly into the canvas (maybe oil is a little easier than acrylic which tends to dry quickly..

And you are a traveler...Which country/area in south America do you like the most?

You are right!  Ultimately, both the creation and observation of art are highly personal experiences. Done well, art yields a benefit to both the artist and the viewer.

but whether it is done "well" or done"terribly unwell"  It is all in the eye of the beholder...

Hi Al,   Crumbs in the butter, it made me laugh...yesterday I caught the cat up on the counter eating the crumbs out of the butter that i acccidentally left out....ha ha ha. anyway, thanks for your compliments...the second that you like I called FLOW...it is brighter, bigger, more enthusiasm in the whole process of making it.

You haven't been painting for very long yet you are very good....it's nice to see also that you have gotten envolved and out there into the community so quickly...Good luck with your shows coming up this year!!!
