Wonderful gallery!  Are you selling any -my gosh- you should be.   I have friends in El Paso that help the orphanage just south of you in Juarez.  They left "everything they had and went down to help out"  Their daughter runs a dance company with the orphanage and church there.  You may have heard of them.   Oh, Do you know much about 2013 gallery and who owns them?    Just wondering....          Deb

Hi...thanks for the compliment....the painting has an interesting history..going back to having roots in Africa with natives believing the jewel colored bottles attracted evil spirits and once trapped in the bottles the villagers felt protected.....I did not know this at the time I painted it.  I had imagined teenagers secretly drinking and goofing around by putting bottles on the trees and I wasn't going to name it alcohol tree...and what is alcohol but spirits...and there you have it.....you sure have come a long way in a short time...simmering for a long time waiting for the right time (universal time) to show itself....congratulations   :-0) feather (Meredith)

Yes Mendocino is gorgeous...but what about Big Sur...and then there is Yosemite..."The Sound of Eternity"  ..the Shasta mountain area...another mystical place here on earth!

Calcutta!  Absolutely..   India  would be one of the most fascinating places in the entire world....Well, the Pryamids in Egypt too.

But Back to India,  Yes it has been a big dream of mine to go to India, and especially Calcutta.  I have an artist friend who spent several months in Calcutta with Mother Theresa and her organization...he served as a Brother and took care of the sick....I have read a great deal about Calcutta..  You should read the book  "A Fine Balance"  Such a wonderful, deep, amazing story about Indian culture.

 

My brother was adopted from India as an infant, and My mom hosted several Yogi's from India.  we also had 2 priest who were brothers stay in our home for several months while they were visiting in America......all this influence while I was growing up...

You talk of Venice the way I would talk of Paris...and yes Anywhere in Ireland is a good place for tall glass of Beer.  I was in Ireland last spring...I have several relatives there...My Nana was born there in 1911, came to America in 1928....
