Hi Richard,

thanks for the input in my blog, and I have to respond to what you typed... it does require discipline to paint certain things because it is WORK! I paint 2 types of paintings, the ones that I love and the ones that may either help me be a better teacher or help me get an extra sale, if it was all fun it would be a perfect world but for me it's also work.

Richard,Thanks for the input about oils over acrylic. I recently switched to Williamsburg oils and, although they're expensive, I like the quality. In the past I've used H2Oils, and have also applied them over an acrylic underpainting, but I didn't have any problems doing so. The main problem I have with water soluble oils is that the paints don't age well. After a couple of years they became less water soluble and very clotty so I tossed them out. - Kathy
