I love your art work.  Your abstracts kick butt, and your realism paintings are awesome.

Thanks for your comment about the No Face doll.  She is the ill fated Indian version of Juliet; lost her life trying to cross a river to reach a brave from an enemy tribe.

I really appreciate your answer to my remarks about returning to school!  It sounds like you have a firm hold on your creativity and are flying with it.  God bless you and keep you creating the wonderful work you are doing!

I have absolutely no interest in going back to school right now.  My teacher's comments came at a time when I was completely burnt out on taking classes anyway. (I had even started skipping classes quite a bit; and if you knew me, you'd know how out of character that is.)  If I ever get the urge to take a class again, I definitely will. (I've had some WONDERFUL teachers!)  But, for now my path lies elsewhere.  I've found that if I don't listen to my intuition/gut/that "still, small voice" inside - then things get out of balance very quickly and I end up unhappy and full of regrets.  Right now I have no regrets.  I feel like a phoenix starting to rise from the burning ashes.  It's awesome.

I 'm glad your path lead you to some really great teachers.  Your art is wonderfully expressive and beautiful!  I wish you the best on your journey.  Thank you for visiting again and for your comments/input.  It's nice to be able to communicate with other artists from all walks of life and from different places.   Thanks for sharing!

P.S.  Once again, I'll put this here and on your page.

I am not quite sure what to say to your teacher's comments about just getting out to do your art.  After 20 years of just "doing my art" I realized I needed to get some formal training under my belt and went back to school just to do that.  It was a very confusing time...because what I though was really wonderful turned out to be "hallmark art" in their eyes.  I am a nurse and I was asked to paint the angst in my life (it was during the 80's and early 90's) and I retorted back to them that I saw enough tragedy in my real job to want to paint that.  After I graduated, it took me two years to finally get back to painting.  I was amazed at what I had learned from each professor and, to this day, can hear each one whispering in my ear when I paint.  I really think your art  speaks of feeling and wonderful promise.  Is there a way you can get back into the world of art education?

Hi "Artfelt"!

Thanks for the visit/compliments!  I went to community college for a
couple of years and then to Kendall College of Art & Design for a
year.  My teachers told me my work is excellent and that I'm very
talented, and that I was basically  wasting my money paying tuition
when I should just go out and make my art.   So I stopped going to
school.  I was doing a lot of photo-realistic commissions, which kind
of "killed" my creativity/fun and enjoyment of art-making;  And, I've
been through some really rough times in the past few years, but now I
feel the creative spark is growing brighter again.  I kind of feel like
a beginner again - which is actually a good thing. Thanks again for the
compliments!  And, keep doing what you love!

All the best,

-Jendria

P.S.  I'll post this response on your page too.  (I'm never quite sure whether to respond on the visitor's page or my own.)
