Hi Jeffrey,

Thanks for checking out my work. Yup, that's gold leaf. It was a 3" border around the medallion and I used stencil filagree inside the medallion. The darn thing had originally been spry-textured and was so terribly bumpy, there was no way I could do the filagree by hand. Up close, the stencil didn't look great either, but since the ceiling was 22' high, I didn't need to worry about anyone getting up close. Really reflects the light well with all those bumps.  Thanks for the comments about the clouds. The owners started out wanting a full on sunset with blaring orange. I did it under duress, knowing they wouldn't like it and tried to get them to understand that it wouldn't look good. But since they insisted, I upped the amount that I charged them, so they would have the ability to change their minds and I would look benevolent and wouldn't charge for changes. And if they actually liked it, I'd make a great profit. It was a 20' x 50' ceiling, plus 4 marble columns and more gold leaf and a sky light on the first floor. Aaaahhh, what a job. They should all be so profitable. I ended up re-painting the ceiling 3 times, because the husband just wantedd it a certain way. Lucky I added in all that extra cost. Cours, I had worked for them before and knew it wasn't going to be a slam-dunk.

Hi Jeffrey,  I agree a mural is great art work. I've done a few myself and the scale is so much fun,  it's like you are creating a universe around yourself.  Thanks for the nice comment on my sculpture. The only draw back with murals is that they are so big it's hard to photograph them. You almost  have to be physically present to enjoy them.  Take care, Wanda

Hey Jeffrey!

Nice work! Always nice to find a fellow muralist. Thank you for the nice comments about my work. The architecutral work is some of the toughest I've ever done. Gotta be right, in order to "fool the eye", so to speak. I am currently do a mural at a furniture store that has a clssical look to it with tons of archetectural work. It bites me everytime I do work like this. I learn a little more and lose a little sleep trying to make it look just right. I'm sure you can relate. I enjoy your work. Theatre stuff is fun, but in my small town the local theatre pays so lousy, I never want to get sucked into doing it.  I enjoyed your surreal work too.
