The tree gallery is really fun and I think it will make a great link on your website.  I've re-worked my birch tree painting a bit more and I'll post it once I get it flattened out and I get a decent photo.  Carmela

thanks for your comments, on Healing Waters.  There is a story attached to this painting.  I was staff at Camp Make a Dream ( for young adolescent cancer survivors) in Missoula Montana  one spring 2 years ago.  It was very windy and I was sitting on a bluff watching the wind whip the grass around in the meadow below.  The grass looked like running water.  The kids couldn't stop looking at it and commenting on how mesmerizing it was.  And then the nex thing you know this painting comes out of me!!  Sandy

Thanks for the "sucked" comment.  I don't think it is done, almost though.  Thank you for the tent tips.  I ended up getting a slightly less expensive version since hurricanes are rare here.  Was the from a class demo? Grisaille?  Still deliberating about job.

I didn't think you'd recognize the graffito designs as mine.  I did them for a class exercise in limited palette designs.  They are a lot like the "scribble" designs we used to do as kids.  You start with a word (your name or other significant word) and go from there.  The patterns just developed as I put in color.  They're a lot of fun to do.  I think I might try another one and start with a wash this time.  Actually the blue one has a light wash.  Carmela

Hi RObin, RE your question on the Tropcial Landscape -- it was a few years ago and I probably masked the roof.  Honestly I think it's too stark white but peer critiquers said leave it. What do you think? PS It's quin gold not yellow ochre which is too opaque for me. FOr yellows Iuse Winsor Lemon, New Gamboge, quinacrodone gold, and occasionallhy aureolin. How about you?

Robin, that pine landscape was not a plein air, but based on sketches outside.  It has flaws but as an experiment I did the initial drawing in w/c pencil. As to size: I paint too small ! Most of mine are 8 x 10 up to 14 x 20. Do you use a full sheet?
