Yes! As in LI! I will definitely do that if time provides. Thank you for the encouragement. And yes, ArtCalender is just amazing. I've been sitting here for 4 years trying to keep myself motivated and this is just what I needed. Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Chris, Sage advice and so true, thanks for sharing it. A friend once told me I must never stop painting because I might never start again. I thought she was crazy. It took me 15 years to get back to it. I think I'm beginning to understand. Your work is really beautiful. Off to your website. Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Chris  Encaustic is the art of using wax to create pictures. Most of the encaustic artists do abstract on wood or masonite. I use slick paper that is similar to the paper used to prints pics on the computer. I use an OLD GE iron (before holes were invented) and a hot air gun along with some other tools. I try to create things we recognize in life. YOu use wax as a resist, I use blocks of colored was as my paint and the iron as my brush. The hotair gun makes it easy to manuever if I'm not happy with what I see. Check out my website www.encausticbyjoyce.com.

Thanks for taking a look at my art.

Really like what is in your gallery; wonderful color. Plan to visit your web site. I spent 12 years of my life in Alabama. Did shows in Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Mobile, Huntsville and a lake somewhere in the northeast (name escapes me - I'm old and it was years ago). I sat on a tree stump at a show in a park and got fire ants in my pants. I'll never forget that one.

Welcome
