Re: Sales at ArtScutlebutt.com - I believe this is the first step toward all the artist's selling on your beloved site. Ebay is a 'flea market' were crooks runs free and some of the artist's hide their real identity or change their names. 'Daily Painters' is like selling on a funeral parlor, or at a haunted house. Black backgrounds are most related with crime and dead dealers. Did you notice how many new ones comes to your site and have no self- portrait? I think an artist must have an integrity in their work and in their faces before showing on. My dream is to be able to see your site as a top contender to any other site related with art sales. Artist needs to sale their work, this is a great motive for all of us. Perhaps members can pay a monthly fee for selling their work through your site, with a Paypal system. You have the authority, the knowledge, the power, the vision to attract buyers worldwide to this site and make it the NUMERO UNO. Comprende? If you do, count on me and I'll be posting my very best original non-toxic oil paints on a certified organic canvas on artscuttlebutt.

Best regards

Carolyn,  Paints with Sticks and I have been thinking of a "Scuttlebutt Festival" or "Party Pow Wow".  We could sell our art, have a bar-b-que with all the fixin's, music, etc.  That way we could actually meet some of the online friends we are getting to know. We would plan of having it somewhere in the central US so it would be easily accessible for most of us.  I would love to hear your thoughts on this?  Has this ever been considered?  You can email me if you want or go to my site.  Deb_Magelssen

Carolyn, another great one!

I used the formula to diversify by teaching blacksmithing at a art school in Virginia for a week and a weekend.  Blacksmithing is very expensive to set up properly, and I can show people how to do it with the best equipment and good forging techniques.  The baby boomers are interested in art and this allows them to learn something new, for me to pass on the knowledge to someone else, and I solely use this money to purchase tools that will improve my art and perfomance at the forge.

Special kudos on this issue to yourself,Annie and Steve Yahn (it is nice to have feedback to someone that has improved your quality of life).

Cheers,

I have a festival to set up my forge at gotta run.  I will post pictures.  I think it is time to put a picture of myself up also!

Carolyn, thanks for getting all this started! It's great to see your work and to make this personal connection after I have been an avid reader for so many years. Thanks also for the friend request. I am new to these networks and not that familiar with the etiquette on making requests, but you have gotten me started now. Best wishes for a successful and happy 2008!
