Daily picture - Oranges
DATE: 02/07/2008 18:43:38 / MOOD: happy
We took a trip across the state yesterday and I took my sketchbook with me to keep from getting bored on the ride. Last night I added paint to this sketch. Again the image insert didn't work so here is the link. It seems like it works every other day. Strange. http://www.artscuttlebutt.com/file/pic/gallery/7045.jpg

Today the image insert worked. This is a painting from my adventures in Ecuador. Thought it would be appropriate after reading about the volcano erupting.

Daily Picture - Sail Away
DATE: 02/04/2008 18:43:32 / MOOD: happy
Here is my daily picture. Today the image insert worked. We have had such gorgeous weather and I would really like to be out on the river in a sailboat. Since I don't have a boat anymore this monotype will have to do. The painting is 24X18".

It was such a beautiful day here this picture seemed appropriate for the good mood I was in until I tried to load the image in the blog. It is 7X5" miniature watercolor. http://www.artscuttlebutt.com/file/pic/gallery/6673.jpg

I finally figured out how to add an image to the blog. This is my daily submission. There are an abundance of Blue Footed Boobies and Penguins in Galapagos. The painting is done with water soluble oils on canvas and is 11X14".

Daily picture - Refuge

Today's posting is the original "Refuge" that inspired yesterday's painting. I really like it for its simplicity. It is a place that I would love to be. It is a monotype, 24X18".

Daily picture - Refuge-Miniature
DATE: 01/30/2008 18:58:48 / MOOD: full of life
It was a beautiful, sunny day in central Fl. My husband and I spent the day in a couple of conservation areas. It is refreshing to know that there are still pockets of Fl that have not been overtaken by humans. The strange thing about the day was an almost complete dearth of wildlife. Usually this is the prime season for migratory birds. We have noticed the obvious lack of birds in three parts of the state in the last week. If they are not here, where are they? Anyway the day in the wilderness made me think of this painting, "Refuge - Miniature." It is a 7X5" monotype that was inspired by a larger version.
