Daily Picture - Hibiscus Salad

Today's addition to the gallery is "Hibiscus Salad". This squirrel was in my front yard having a good time eating the flowers off a hibiscus. I loved the color contrast and grabbed my camera to catch the image before the flower and the squirrel disappeared.

Today's picture is more in line with my traditional watercolor work. Fine Feathered Friends is from a photo taken in an aviary. This little fellow took a liking to my husband, but then everyone does.

Today's picture, "Dolphin Frolic" is the second on my three dolphin monotypes. This is really the first one I did. That is why the colors are more vivid than "Dolphins in the Reeds." It is 11X14".

Check the gallery for "Snake Eyes", a watercolor of a beautiful large indigo snake that was up on my fence staying out of the way of my two small dogs. This painting is currently on display at the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge by Kennedy Space Center, FL. It is 11X14".

Check out my daily picture. "Besse's Dog" is from a series on miniatures I did of my husband's home town of Selbyville, WV. I call the series "Searching for Signs of Life in Selbyville". This and some others are currently on display in Galiopolis OH at the French Colony Art Gallery.

This painting was accomplished using water soluble oils on canvas. The image came from a photo I took on a trip to Galapagos. These islands are the only place in the world that have marine iguanas. The painting is 11X14".
