The Devil Is My Friend
(Click Picture)

We were talking about music again. This is not the first time music this has been the subject of a painting. Well, at least one of mine. Long story short, after mentioning the old Jazz Butcher song, The Devil Is My Friend, I thought, it's time for another devil. I still remember the words to the song (Well, most of them at least) I also remember that in school, people thought we worshipped satan and songs with lyrics like that didnt help the cause. (that is the subject of another painting) Anyway, here is to sitting around with friends and talking and remembering lyrics to songs that you have forgotten existed.... Enjoy!

Daily Keemo - Limited Edition Button #3 - 03.21
DATE: 03/21/2008 07:26:42 / MOOD: in love

This is #3 in the limited edition button series. This is the limited edition of a recent painting called The Things We Abandon When It Doesn't Stop The Crying. (ACEO #334).

Story:
I sat in my seat on the plane drawing most of the way home. There was a mother with a small baby in the seat in front of me. The baby was not particularly excited about being stuck on the plane. (like most of us, I suppose) I turned my headphones up to drown out the crying and worked away on some pictures. I sat back and was thinking about what to draw next when I saw the baby's pink, stuffed bunny wedged between the two seats in front of me. The mother must have abandoned it as a method of getting the baby to stop crying. Well, you know the saying; one crying baby's loss is another painters gain. So, here is to all the things that we abandon when it doesn't stop the crying...

Only 25 of these buttons will be made available. Once these 25 button are gone, that is it. I have worked with the printer to make sure that each button is individually numbered to reflect it's placement in the set. (If you are the 5th person, you will receive button #5 of 25.) The first four designs in the series have already been created and they will be released over the coming weeks. (FYI, the first two sold out in 24-36 hours.) The next 4 are already in the works... Enjoy!

3 Is Not A Crowd To Me
(Click Picture)

These just like hanging out in groups of three. I was going to post 4 and something just wasn't right. So, one didnt make this go around and has to wait for two more. I was hoping for some crazy names on these paint samples but these are three are all classic names, that somehow just seem appropriate. Cermonial Gold, Cayenne and Saffron Thread. Does Saffron even have threads? I don't know about that. (However, I do know that, I am just mad about saffron.) Im pretty sure she is just mad about me... Anyway, time to close this one up when start poorly quoting Donovan lyrics... Enjoy!

Headaches Need This Relief (1957)
(Click Picture)

1957 was a good year for medical ads. Im not basing that on anything other than these two ads that were next to each other in an old magazine from 1957. 1.) "Headaches Need This Relief". Now that is just cutting to the chase. Its not you that needs the relieif, it is the headache that needs it. 2.) I had to google "piles" to make sure I knew what they were. I was wrong. That has got to be the most unimaginitive medical term that exists; Piles. Whoever made that up was at the end of a long day and just wanted to go home. Piles. I'll think I'll stop becuase there is now way but down from here in regards to writing about Piles. Do you think maybe they mean Gomer Pyle(s)? ...Enjoy!

This is #2 in the limited edition button series. This is the limited edition Studio 216 button. (Studio 216 is a wonderful gallery down in Granbury, TX. I highly recommend you stop by if you can. Great people.) This particular painting was auctioned off at the opening of Studio 216 last month. Visitors to the gallery, where able to bid on this painting online. It was a great way to educate people about buying art online and something a little new to do during an opening.

(The first one is sold out) So, if you missed the first one, start your collection off with the very second one. Viva Studio 216!... Enjoy!

When You're Tired It Is Good To Let The Pen Run Its Course.
(Click Picture)

When you're tired it is good to let the pen run its course. I suppose if you wanted to apply this to your own life you can swap out the word "pen" for anything that applies to you. However, since it is me and I'm the one who's tired, I choose to let the pen run its course. I trust my tool enough to let it come up with the portrait while I listen to old episodes of This American Life and daydream and get transported to another place or time and drink a glass of water. Who this is or what it about is not important. Sometimes, its just about how you get there...Enjoy!

Daily Keemo - Limited Edition Ninja 03.13
DATE: 03/13/2008 07:41:25 / MOOD: full of life

I love The Ninja. I'm not afraid to say it. In fact, I have said it many times before, "If you don't have a Ninja painting in your collection, you are taking art way too seriously." Well, it is only appropriate that the first in the series of Limited Edition Keemo buttons is, The Ninja. Only 25 of these Ninja buttons will be made available. Once these 25 ninjas are gone, that is it. I have worked with the printer to make sure that each button is individually numbered to reflect it's placement in the set. (If you are the 5th person, you will receive ninja button #5 of 25.) The first four designs in the series have already been created and they will be released over the coming weeks. So, start your collection off with the very first one. The Ninja!... Enjoy!

It's 11:35 PM And There Are Still 3 Hours In These Bones
(Click Picture)

I'm going to keep this one short. It's 11:35 PM and there are still at least 3 hours in these bones tonight. (I figure there is another painting in here somewhere.) The alarm will blow at 6:45 like it does every morning and I'll be tired as hell on 3-4 hours sleep and I will stumble around for the first hour and I'll pour coffee down my gullet and by 9:00 AM I'll be back in business and ready to start it all over again. Well, here is to that AM alarm and not letting it stop you from being who really are...Enjoy!
