New Musical Painting

I have been working on a new musical painting this week in between chores and cleaning up the house. Last week was pretty much a write off after I had to have a tooth out. The tooth was very unhappy about coming out and quite resistant to the whole idea so I ended up being quite sore for a couple of weeks.

Great Surprise

I will be back in the studio today hopefully finishing up the Golden Sax painting that I have been working on. I've been posting pics of the process and will post the picture of the finished painting as soon as I am happy with it.

The Golden Sax

I have just updated my No Naked Walls blog. I started a new musical painting and thought it would be fun to show photos of it progressing. I have several pictures up already. Kimono Prints

Over the past few years I have been enjoying printmaking. There is something very exciting about inking up a plate, running it through the press and then the excitement of looking to see how it has turned out. There is always a possibility of the unexpected happening. Happy serendipity or not so happy depending on the outcome. I have a series based on the KImono. I print each one up in a different way changing the colors so the they are all unique even if they have been printed from the same plate. I was printing one up yesterday and thought I would post one here. You can see others on my web site. They have been a very popular series for me and people seem to buy them in twos and threes. They don't photograph that well as the pressure of the press embosses the image into the paper and that doesn't show up in the photos.
I will post the image on my other blog as I find it easier to upload photos there. Do pay it a visit.

Anyone live near Smithtown NY?

I have had two pieces accepted in the "Art of Music" exhibition at Mills Pond House Gallery in Smithtown NY. Unfortunately I live in Atlanta. It would be great to hear from someone who lives nearby and is able to go and see the show however I guess that is a bit much to hope for. I thought it was worth putting out there though.

No Naked Walls Update

I've had a lot of friends visiting this year. Fortunately most of my friends are slso artists so we have a great time visitng galleries and talking about art. I have a selection of art videos that I love to share. One both my friends and I really love is "Rivers and Tides" about the art of Andy Goldsworthy. If you have the chance to see it I highly reccomend it. I'm sure you can read reviews and info about it on Amazon.
I have just updated my No Naked Walls blog. I've added a photo of my latest collagraph print work called "Signs of Life" inspired by a wonderful book by the same name. Please let me know if it resonates with you.
