STUDIO SPRING HOUSE CLEANING
DATE: 04/20/2008 22:33:56 / MOOD: in love
It is always so refreshing to clean out the studio and add something new. It kind of gets me excited to start new paintings as well. So spending the weekend doing just that was fine with me. Especially since winter just seems to hang on, making weekend yard work still a bit chilly and wet.
Rearranging my reference and inspirational notebooks gave me more space for other things, and provided a fresh look at much of it.
Bill, my dear husband, was kind enough to build me two tilting shelves where I can spread out my references and idea pictures, something that was always so unmanageable and clumsy. And a simple thing like swooping locations of my bulletin board and mirror gave me a better view out the big glass door behind me when I work. Now when I need to check a pose in the mirror I no longer have to step away from the easel to do it.
It’s amazing what a few simple changes can do for ones morale.
So I am looking forward to going back to work Monday, finish the painting that is on my easel and start a new one.

I just returned to Oregon from Leawood Kansas, where I was part of the opening of Park PlaceGallery of fine art. It is located 11560 Ash Street in a brand new shopping complex, parts of which are still under construction. The gallery is just wonderful, big, bright, and very well put togeather. I am so privlaged to be showing my work there along side so many talanted artists. Check out their website www.theparkplacegallery.com or if you are in KS by all means go see the gallery. Every one there is just a delight to work with and made us feel so welcome.

I am confused
DATE: 11/19/2007 16:21:17 / MOOD: disappointed
Hi, I am confused, I sent my sister the URL for this site so she could see what I had posted. She coulden't even find me. So I tried entering it from the URL. I could not find my site that way either. Does she have to register to see it? There doesn't seem to be any way to search for a particular artist. You don't enter at a home page either. I find it all very confusing. Could you please clarify this for me. Annie, maybee you can help me on this one as well. Thank you,
Sonja
