What kind of contracts or buyers agreements do you use? If any? I haven't had the need. I sell mostly through word of mouth. They give me the money, I give them art.

What are the benefits of using one? Are there risks not?

I use one provided by California Lawyers for the Arts.  This is a wonderful art service for visual, music, actors, writers, etc. The contract I use gives me all publishing rights, the right to borrow the painting for a show, and me or my heirs a 15% resale fee on profit made on my work. State and federal law gives the artist 10%.

 FYI: If someone paints over your mural, they owe you a fee as well.
