I paint to learn.

I like art and the people who feel an irrational compulsion to make it. I love movies or should I say cinema- I like books-poetry, fiction biographies.

I dislike mean spirited people who dismiss the importance of art.

I write poetry and fight crime.

I like your comment---that you paint to learn---that's great.  I'd love to hear more about that from you.I like to be "open" when I paint and let the brush lead me and show me some stuff---to explore and find out stuff.  I need to trust and let go.   and be "easy" with myself and not push.    hey_ I am from New York -Manhattan- andI lived in Bklyn for a while. in 1990 I moved to Los Angeles.  there's less angst here. well- there is angst but a different kind.

Thank you Brian. for your comment on Village Wedding People.  It was taken from my son's wedding last July.  The MC passed out hats for everyone to have fun with.  The young man on the right with the police hat is my other son, the young lady in red is my niece and the other young man is a close friend of the family.  It took almost a year to compleate that painting.  I sort of got burned out on it, and went back and forth with other paintings in between.  Believe it or not  I still enjoyed every minute working on it. Although, I was happy to have it finished.  All in all Portraits are my passion.

I enjoyed looking at your gallery.  I like your Profile Page.  Very colorful.  I like your title, and how you use your colors in your paintings.  It would be my pleasure to be your friend.  Can never have enough.  Thank you for the invitation.   Jan

Hello,

thank you so much for your comment on my George Carlin painting.  I just spotted it now...sorry for the late reply.  I thought George Carlin was the greatest.  I'd love to paint more of him...since I appreciate comedians. karen

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your vote on my "Close Friends" painting.

These endearing creatures were so willing to pose for me during our visit to Prince Edward Island. The juxtaposition of these massive animals in the field of delicate grasses and wildflowers was really fun...and their genuine companionship was obvious.    I was surprised to see that the dark one of the duo, whose name must be “Brutus” (or something equally descriptive), was the shy one.  I couldn’t help but grin at the sight of them.  In the distance was a lone cow who seemed to lack the experience of a close friend.

Thanks again for your comment.

Hi Brian,

Why do you want to be on my friends list?  I'm just curious.  We seem to have little in common, except the Beatles, perhaps.  Well, art, of course.

There's no better Gospel than the Original.  That's worth preaching!

Nice to meet you, Brian.  I like your title -- artwise and humanwise.

Thanks for asking to be a friend. What's with your pic- the reaching up. Is it something like the answering machine joke-"I am sorry I can't answer the phone as I have fallen on the floor and can't get up"? I looked at your pics and am mistified by the titles versus the pic on quite a few. I guess I don't have to understand your message to like the art but It makes me curious. Who is Brian? and his Gospel? Is his Gospel reflected in some of your pics. With all these questions you will probably withdraw your request to be a friend. Keep painting.

Art is above politics. Ignore the political parties. I've accepted your friendship request.

Hi there,

I'm glad that you like my youtube video that I have up.  I have  no idea why I love that video I just do.  The lyrics are great and the visuals to the video say alot.  Thanks for checking out my site and complimenting me on "Are My Glasses On Straight".  I guess every so often I need to throw in a fun peice to mix things up a bit.  I look forward to seeing more of your fun loving art works.

Karen
