and thank you! i'm learning as i go and your question not only helped me realize how i limit myself but turned into something i wanted to share on my blog, so thank you! i don't do glass, reflections, folds etc. well. that's what i tell myself, but if i switch off and concentrate on shapes, values and temp somehow it all works out. your gallery is beautiful. i love your work. have a great nite and thanks again. best, suz

thank you so much! i really appreciate your words. and if i may be so bold, you certainly can do glass. i don't approach it as glass, it's nothing more than a series of tonal values arranged in predetermined pattern or more simply stated, paint what's behind the glass and then paint a lighter value of the same color with the bright highlights. please forgive me if i've offended. and again, thank you so much.

Thanks so much for your kind comments on my painting. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to repsond. Luckily, it's because I've been at the easel more than on the computer lately. Ahhhhh.

Best wishes,

Sandy

Thanks for the comment on the market painting.  I agree with you that starting something that complicated can be a bit daunting.  I ended up treating each section of fruit as it's own little painting and just worked through it bit by bit.  The only problem is that the closer I got to the end the more I worried about screwing it up.  Thanks again for the comment,

 John

Thanks for your kind comment on the "Red Bull" piece. Glad you enjoyed it.

I toured your gallery and really like the work called "Larry Statue". Very well done. Great composition.
