This all began a few years ago when my wife and I went to Maui for our honeymoon. With just two point and shoots and a lot of film, we came back with beautiful pictures and memories that would last a lifetime. Today, we continue to travel attempting to capture that forever elusive image or angle that exists throughout this God-created Earth.

I’ve also “upgraded” my camera equipment just a little since then. I now use a 4”x5” (large format) camera. The 4”x5” film allows me to capture more information at once bringing exceptional detail and clarity to each print. In comparison, a scanned 4”x5” image can produce a file more than ten times larger than an 8 mega pixel digital camera. I believe this is essential in photographing landscape so your audience feels like they’re actually there.

My inspiration comes from music and playing one song over and over until the painting is done.  Titles come easy after I am satisfied with the painting.   Karen

Interesting observation about the 'information content' of large-format film photographs.  I agree that while digital cameras have their place, they can also be limiting.  I'd love to see your work at it's full resolution...  the detail shown in the samples you posted is very tantalizing.
