Born and raised in Greenwich Village, NYC by immigrant parents, I was influenced by the art show around Washington Square Park. Since my art was not encouraged, I became and elementary school teacher. My career evolved to a learning disabilities specialist, then a clinical counselor, then a college professor where I won a prestigeous Fulbright Scholarship to Italy.
My art was alway a hobby, and it stayed in my life somehow.
In 2002 I received a degree in Fine Art. In 2004 I retired from full time professorship and opened my own art business--HooperArt. I still teach part time but now I also teach art, produce art, market art and live art.

I am interested in everything around me--people, nature, events. My passion is getting involved in [hopefully] productive ways. My art is a major way I get involed, but so is teaching and service.

I love nature, my husband, children, producing art, teaching art, the beach and the ocean waves, palm trees.

People and events that only serve to give a negative influence on good things. Our country is overly full of this [for over 20 years] and we need to hear the positive things that occur on a daily basis in this country. ART is one of those things--it can raise the spirit.

Art is my career and my hobby.
