I am a part time artist from Nicaragua. I did my first drawing when I was 13, but I think I discovered the artist part of me 4 years later when I started drawing cartoons.
I took art classes at The School of Fine Arts in Honduras for a year where I learned about drawing and the basics of oil painting. I spent the next 6 years working on commercial paintings using a mix of lithographic ink and white oil color I also painted 4 or 5 oil paintings during that time.
I moved to USA in 2007 and I began to work in oil paintings and I took some classes too.
I love to paint still life and figure is a subject that really challenges me.

Family and friends. Learning something new every day.

Cold weather; but I love snow. Thats my dilemma.

Thank you for visiting my page and for plenty of comments. I am honored and excited when other artists comment on my work. Any constructive critisism is also welcomed :)

Yes, the work "In the Garden" is a selfportrait with my neice. As for the expressionistic work I do, I feel it is easier if you use a pallet knife. It allows amazingly loose strokes. Try it and don't plan to much. I am torn between more exporessionistic work and more realistic title. I like both and would love to be good at both.

Any way, thank you again very much.
By the way, I love Laura Pausini and Andrea Bocelli.

Hi Meltoledo, I love your work, very sensitive and accurate. My favorite is  'Oranges' with the warm shadows and such perfect technique. Thanks for sharing. Lea

Rather than being scared about it start it with the attitude..."Let's see what I can do". the very worst thing that can happen is you waste a canvas. What helped me with all those small faces was squinting while I did them and stop when I saw an expression I wanted.  With the talent you have I bet you it will come out great!

mel...if you do a large people scene like my Festival In The Park go to the place and take tons of photos. It helps you to recall the feeling of the day. It's easier like this than from memory or imagination...good luck to you...show me it when it's done.
