You must know cycling more than me if you knew that was France. Or was the background that obvious?

Hey M.A. - thanks for checking out my cycling paintings : ) They are hanging at a local cycling themed restaurant/café here in town along with some of my other abstracts. I've had a great exhibit there - sold 7 paintings last month and have 4 commissions on order! They are going to be there through the end of Oct so I'm working to get a couple more cycling pieces in there before the end of the month. Not bad for a rookie exhibitor huh?

My friend Adam lives near Tremont. Last time I was there he took me walking around downtown. We went to that old warehouse where all the different food vendors are and we had lunch in there. Cool place! I liked the renovations they did to that downtown area.

Hope you do well at the YMCA. That's not the first place I would think of for placing art - but Y not?! It's as good as any other place : )

Thanks for commenting on my website. I kept it very simple. I need to update it with some of the new stuff. I should add pictures of my paintings at the restaurants.

Talk to ya later : )

Hey Mary Ann - thanks for swinging by : )  I have that painting that you commented on and 10 other recent ones on display at a local restaurant during July and August. Then they move to another local coffeehouse/restaurant for September and October. Hopefully something sells - I could use the cash right about now. Our interior decorating business is doing really lousy this year and I had to take a part-time sales job to get some money coming in - UGH! Can this economy get any worse???? Hopefully you're doing well. I'm looking forward to seeing your new stuff!

I just checked out your blog and the sketches-to-painting section (your blog is one of the few I enjoyed reading). It's impressive that you are able to translate your sketches to a final piece. I've tried doing this and when I refer back to my sketch it never makes and sense to me then and I feel like I've lost a good idea. It always looks so clear in my head at the time when I'm not near my paints. Maybe I need to take more time to develop the idea so it makes sense later??? You take great photos...and your cat is so cute. Like mine, they are always into my stuff : )  YOu have a great studio space to work in. I want that!

The day I painted my brown abstract with the red in it I had the Wallflowers on and the painting seems to have their mood in it. Started off slow and steady and then had a jump in tempo (the red part maybe?). The large "landscape" abstract was painted in the garage with rock music on and I've noticed the paint strokes and variety of color seems to have taken on that erratic mood at the time. I was working on a new one yesterday with no music and it went nowhere. Funny how that works isn't it??
