I teach high school art, and I paint mostly in oil (generally landscapes), create collage, work in clay, make jewelry.
I am represented in two galleries in the Cleveland area. One on the east side, the other on the westside. Cleveland has this division thing going with the Cuyahoga river. You need a passport to go across!
I am currently enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training. This will be completed in July,2008.

Thank you!  I used cadmium red and caput mortuum for the furrows and trees.  Yes, they are work from the VSC. Monday I did a bunch of charcoal studies, then spend about two days per image.  The third and fourth are not quite done, and I will post those in a few days (or weeks at the rate I seem to have to work at home). Having 8 days to work w/o interruption allowed me to work on 4 large (44x55)canvases start to finish.  Very satisfying after spending weeks in small chunks to do one smaller canvas.

Went wild with the furrows this week, have a look if you have a break from finals. G

Your landscapes have a soothing serenity about them, and the color brings a liveliness that really makes them pop!

Hi, thanks for the comments on the BBQ piece... it is plein air, done last fall in front of a BBQ place in Waxahachie, Texas. The owner came out and offered us all (there were about 5 of us painting) a free lunch, which we took her up on.  Ever since then I have thought about hanging a sign on my back that says "I'll paint for food and shelter..."

The cell phone photo thing you mention is an interesting idea...never thought of that approach. Nice work.

Thanks for your comments about the sunflowers and Unsalty Point.  Unsalty Point was painted en plein air.  And to answer your question, no it's not too late for the drawing.  The first drawing will be May 15 and monthly thereafter.

hi

i use to have a calico too. that pic is in honor of her.."marlo"..

to add me as friend go to my site and click on "add to friends"...

it will send a message to me.....

it has been exciting to see how many other  art teachers are out there...

and we are all very diverse with our works.   i do silver clay.   although i would like to learn a little more about traditional silversmithing.   but i love the short time it takes to create with silver clay. i can create a piece, dry it in minutes, fire it in minutes on my gas stove in my kitchen and finish it quickly too.   it has been fun to work with.....

i would love to just be creating and selling art and doing workshops instead of full time teaaching but it will be just a little longer.  haha

thanks for the comments looking forward to hearing from you again.

keep creating
