I have been an artist for over 25 years. I am a sculptor and most of my work is through commissions. It can be seen on my web site at http://www.creativesculpture.com. I also paint in watercolor, but have just recently been learning the digital watercolor medium to help illustrate a few children’s books that I have been writing.

As a writer I have been a coauthor on several books and write nonfiction for a couple of different magazines. My favorite things to write about are the business of art, psychology, gardening, the brain and education. You can read about my writing at that portion of my website

Presently I am writing business articles for Sculptural Pursuit Magazine and the Best of Artists and Artisans online magazine. I am presently looking for a publisher for my first book, Bringing to Life the Spirit of the Deceased—A Sculptor’s Journey. It has been a fascinating journey writing it and I am looking forward to some of my first interviews on the book. The research that I have done on emotion in art is the topic of one of my first interviews. You can read about the book

I have an online journal and three blogs. The Newsboy Journaldocuments the eight month-long process of a commission for the Texas Press Association of a life-size newsboy sculpture intended for the state Capitol in Austin. The journal takes the reader from the signing of the contract through the installation of the sculpture and beyond. It is located at

Two of my blogs are updated regularly.
• The first is Creative Endeavors where I blog my recent work and happenings. http://www.creativesculpture.com/blog/

• The second is a blog on a specific job, a posthumous sculpture of Professor Richard Hathaway. The project has been around for a year now. The TW Wood Gallery in Vermont has been raising funds to cast the figure. I have just received word that they have the money and now we will be completing the project. http://www.dickhathaway.blogspot.com/

• My third blog has not received many posts of late. Because it is related to education. It is title Perpetual Learner. Not long ago I found myself back in school finishing my undergraduate degree, I blogged my process of education, which at my age was very interesting. It was also quite intriguing because of the type of school. Vermont College is a student driven educational system. In other words, the student designs their curriculum. It was an incredible experience. I hope to continue on doing the same type of education at Goddard with a masters of fine arts in Interdisciplinary study. That way I can study writing and art and still be able to mix the other elements that I so love like business and psychology. Then it would be on to a PhD, studying creativity as it pertains to behavioral psychology and neurology. It was fun to be back in school and learning, not because I felt like I had to but because I wanted to! I have decided on holding off a bit on the masters and therefore there are very little posts on that forum right now.

Last but not least I am a public speaker and speak on creativity and marketing and the artist. I have a wonderful workshop that I have created for marketing in the arts you can read about on my website.

Art, writing, gardening,and dancing.

I also love research especially anything that has to do with the brain.

My hobbies and work are about the same.

What list, you must be a renaissance fugitive as well.  I can hardly wait to see your piece in Montpelier, just about 50 min.s away, and pretty much on my route to Burlington (unless gas keeps upping!)  Will you have an opening/unveiling?

Hi Bridgette,
As of right now, that functionality isn't available.  However..  ArtScuttlebutt 2.0 will have this feature.  We are currently working on implementing this shortly.  So the wait shouldn't be long!

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Bridgette.  Yes, there is a way to embed youTube videos.  And as a bonus... it's pretty easy!  After you've uploaded you video to YouTube you will notice an "embed" string.  This allows you to add that html anywhere you want!  To add it to your pages/blogs just click the "html" button on the WYSIWYG editor and paste the code into the box that pops up.  You should be set with that method for the blip.tv thing aswell.  Also, you message box is full to the brim, you should delete some messages so other can communicate to you =)

Hot Stuff and hats off!  Sculptors just amaze me because it's something that I can't take on just yet.  I'll stick to my paints.

Hi Bridgette,
Thanks so much for helping us get the kinks out of the system!
In response to some of the bugs you found..
1)  The forums should now be accepting users correctly, and we shouldn't be having problems with it.
2) I have changed the subscribe button to go to the correct Art Calendar subscribe page, instead of the subscribe to the forums page (which we are not using, this is free darnit!)
3)I'm still working on the e-mail notices, hopefully I'll get those kinks worked out soon.

Thanks for all your help and all of your posts and pictures!

Thanks,
Ryan Gordon

Ahh, sorry for posting the comment in a hard to find place.  I commented directly on the picture instead of in your profile like this.  I'm open for all suggestions on making this Frankenstein's monster of a site easier to use (it's pretty heavily modded for both phpFox and phpBB)!
