For 40 years I lived in the MD/D.C. area where I spent 35 years sculpting--was a resident artist for seven years at Montpelier Cultural Arts Center and was with Studio Gallery in D.C.

I returned to my hometown in 2000, a small beautiful town on Kerr Lake (Buggs Island)--a 50,000-acre lake on the border of VA/NC. I built a workshop in the back yard for sculpting; then I decided to paint.

My friends and neighbors--locals and retirees--like my work and sometimes actually buy it.

Porching (sitting on the front porch with neighbors), museums, art books, NPR, TV--Boston Legal, Mad Men, Charlie Rose. Artists: Sir Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud (Christmas gifted myself with his 8 1/2-lb. book).

Anything before 9 a.m., cruelty to animals

digital photography, corel photo/paint & draw, reading, auctions, thrift shops, golf, horseshoes

Your subject matter is very interesting. How long have you been painting?

Thank you for your comment on left behind, I am so happy that I was able to give the unhappy emotion on the sculpture. I was so happy to see that you were in DC and a professional sculptor which have made your dream come true. NC  is a wonderful place. That is my dream as well. Washington D.C. woman's art museum is having an exhibition in Feb. and asked me to display one of my sculptures. They will choose which one is suitable. I touched the sky, I could'nt believe, it will be my first. I would love to discuss with you more on sculptures and would be happy to get some advice from your deep experience. If thats okay.... Great work you have, you are so talented.

Warmest wishes from DC

Thank you Hallie for your nice comment on Ice Box Canyon. I'm kinda getting tired of doing landscapes but I have one more BIG one and two " smaller" ones before I'm finished with the series.
