Just my thoughts

art and health and fitness seem like different topics, but from my own view there is a connection.  When I paint time stops and there is a feeling of release.  The act of making art can be like meditation.  the stress of the everyday physical world is separated from me for a short time and life seems fuller and more complete.

huh seems like that would have to be good for you:)

Hi Mary

I absolutely agree.  It seems like when I'm  creating it produces those feel good endorphins,  that come from intense satisfaction.  I could be wrong about the endorphins,  but that's what it sure seems like.

I agree!

I was one of the only artist/ athletes in my university and couldn't figure out why. I have always felt like art making and health (both physical and emotional) were completely related. I am so glad this group is here!

Now I'm 38 and a mother of two trying to make art, eat as organic as possible, and try to exercise as part of my daily life. I may be biting off a bit more than I can chew!

I am being hustled by my husband to get my bike ready for a ride

Take care-

Cheryl

ditto!

I totally agree as well.  As a matter of fact, most the images I posted on scuttlebutt I have called Art Therapy.  They really don't fit into one genre I don't think.  So, I put them under "Daily" paintings.

I am 39 with husband and miniature poodle who I try to walk every day.  I'm currently trying to push myself to get back into yoga and meditation.   They feed my art and visa versa.  Both Art and excercise help my stress level and probably my blood pressure too!

hugs all around!

Jen
