It began with the Joy of Painting series on PBS.
I liked the approach of Bob Ross. "We dont't make mistakes, we have happy accidents".
I am a raw beginner. I'm still working on improving my techniques, and still learning all the basics. Going to my easel is a form of escape.
As Bob Ross said, "this canvas is your world and you can do anything you want in your world". And "if it makes you happy its good".
I don't use the "wet on wet" style that Bob Ross used (I just enjoyed watching him). I use water miscible oils and traditional oils.
I've been painting for about a year and a half.
I don't expect to sell my work, nor do I expect to be a Vincent Van Gough. But who Knows? If I keep on working at it and I don't drop dead anything is possible.
Thank you for stopping by.
P.S. I'd also like to thank all of you for your kind comments, advice, suggestions, encouragement and the friendships, you have given me. It's because of all of you, I stay inspired. If there is one thing I have learned from all of you it is this...NO DISCOURAGEMENT!

Good people, Good food, Good coffee

RAP MUSIC, Drunkards and over 50 moments. For example you can't remember the title of somebody's work you want to comment on, also known as a "brain burp".

Way too many to mention.

Just read your blog entry.  Yikes!

Glad you're still with us!

Here are a few inspirational quotes I thought you might like:

"Good humor is a tonic for mind and body.  It is the
best            antidote for anxiety and depression.  It is a business
asset.  It attracts and keeps friends.  It lightens human burdens.  It
is the direct route to serenity and contentment."  --Greenvillle
Kleisser

"Expect an abundance. The stream of plenty always flows towards the open, expectant mind."  --Bob Proctor

"If I have lost confidence in myself then I have the universe against me."  --Emerson

"The wisest men follow their own direction."  --Euripides

"Every man is the architect of his own fortune."  --Sallust

"If you hear a voice within you say “you cannot paint,” then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced."  --Vincent Van Gogh

"When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece."  --John Ruskin

"In the middle of a difficulty lies opportunity."  --Albert Einstein

Have an awesome one,
