I love the shadows too.  The blue of the bay is so bright it jumps at me and pulls me into the picture.  Having just seen the caribbean, I would say the water here is too cobalt, maybe a grey or orange wash along the far edge would put it backto the background.

 OK, sorry for the unsolicited critique, I bad.

Once again I opened one of your pieces because I love the fence shadows! Very nice, wish I was there. We're supposed to get a foot of snow tonight.
