Mmmmm, gotta love those furrows. I have been using them so much I had to ask myself last night if I wasn't relying too much on the easy perspective effect at the expense of color depth....as usual, I just ignore myself until I find a better solution.
As for your new work, I wonder what would happen if you added a whitish cloud reflection in the relatively darker bluish pool on the bottom right. hmmm maybe the "pool" is still snow?
I just watched the Gamlin Color space video, and emailed them about new gamboge lake. (It is like cadmium yellow deep with some mustardy earthy tones...might try making it by C. yellow deep + bit of violet?)
What is the red/magenta color you are using in the shadows? The Gamlin video is interesting, and the palette layout as well.... I have resisted an organized palette, so despite efforts, I remain with the utter Chaos, and have compensated by using a 24"sq. glass table to mix. The radiant colors look like the deeps with white added, do you find them transparent?
