Hi!   I have not heard of using thinner before and I have looked at many methods (however, there may be one out there).  There are about four or five different ones floating around that I know of.  Unfortunately it isn't a method that is for impatient people, like me too.  I believe I could find a link which explains all of them together.  I find that the only gel that worked for me was polymir medium by Golden which I strongly suggest.  Let me know!  Hope your TG weekend was a good one!

I am inspired by surendipitous moments.  Ones that speak to my heart and my head.  Both with portraits and with architecture.  Working with an 8x10 camera...I NEVER take anectdotal shots that don't contribute to my portfolios or good feelings.  it is way too much work and expense.  But when I decided I like something....(and have looked at it 5-10-15 times, then I go for it and don't miss.  Best to you.....:-)  Gary

I would be real happy to answer any specific questions you have about the transfer process and I have done it a lot.  I do have luck with it but it is a bit time consuming (sanding, etc.) and with the method I use it is hard 'not' to get the distressed look.

I believe there is a background bit in the comment section about the picture itself.  The Party picture was taken in 1945 at my mother in law's 8th birthday party.  The young gals in it were her invitees!  Fell in love with it when I saw it and have used it a number of times in my art.

hi there lady,

sorry for not getting back to you soon.  Life has it's ways with me sometime and just won't let go.  I'm sure you know.  Your work is very interesting, Acrylic you say or is there another medium?

Great job of giving the visual texture a big stand out.  or is it the texture itself?

So glad to see another Floridian here. What I know about glass art can be written on the head of a pin, so I hope you can educate me! Love mixed media. If you have more pieces for you gallery I would love to see them too- these examples are wonderful.
