The Little Prince, Illusions, poetry by Billy Collins. 3 Cups of Tea

Art for me is a form of poetry, an image that conveys emotion. My paintings aspire to express how humanity interacts in various ways with our environment. These paintings each tell their own story. Each of them creates a positive or negative feeling in the viewer. When an image touches an emotional cord in any of us, it can be counted as successful. The passion I feel on this journey of constant discovery, and of entering the uncharted terrain within, can be exhilarating and challenging, or as frustrating as hell, but certainly never boring.

I’ve hiked a great deal of the Appalachian Trail, spent a week in a world of ice on Baffin Island living with the Inuit, explored much of India, trekked in Nepal, rafted down the Tatshashini River beginning in the Yukon ending in Dry Bay Alaska. In other words, I enjoy adventure, travel, and new experiences.

For many years I was involved in the Radio/TV/Film industry. I have also spent many years pursuing metaphysical studies. But my life has become consumed by painting and that is where my passion and focus is.

I was born in Rhode Island and life has taken me to live in various places: Boston, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Coming full circle back to Rhode Island and settled into a location overlooking a bicycle path, the historic Pomham Lighthouse and the Providence River.

Hi Feather, Thank you for the kind words.  I have to say the same and more about your work. I love the way you use multiple colors in each piece AND with such a great variety of titles.  And some of the titles add even more to the interest!  Great stuff!

Hi Feather, I am happy to be your friend. Thank you so much for asking. I especially like your "Dog Sled" painting. It reminds me of going dog sled riding in Nome Alaska when I was there once.

Best, Alston
