Gallery XIV announces the opening of “The Canvasation Project” – a multi media exhibition featuring over 100 individual artworks alongside 12 significant collaborative paintings painted by groups of participating artists while being documented by Production team, “Film Our Way Films.” The artworks and video installation will be displayed in unison, creating a space reflecting the creative process, itself.
The Canvasation Project engages small groups of artists (who work in all mediums) to create a large painting, collaboratively, while their creative process is filmed. Individual and shared notions of artistic interpretation, visual language, and communication are filmed and also reflected in the layers and surface of each painting. The works in this exhibition explore group and individual methods of creative thinking and problem solving; while illustrating individual processes of approach and communication.
