@Space Contemporary is pleased to announce the exhibition AN INDIAN AND AN IRISHMAN WALK INTO A BAR featuring the glass and neon work of Eóin Breadon and Jason Chakravarty. The exhibition highlights the collaborative partnership between two artists whose work searches out meaning and the maneuverability of individual identity. The American saloon or bar, the stereotypical landscape where deep soul-searching takes place, ideas realistic and otherwise are conceived and hashed out, stories are fabricated or retold, and friendships are made, is the centerpiece of this exhibition. Glass bar napkins etched with visual and verbal sketches, and other bar paraphernalia composed of sculpted and blown glass illuminated with neon, will top  a constructed wood bar.

In addition to Breadon’s and Chakravarty’s collaborative work the gallery will include individual works that compliment the installation including a series of Chakravarty’s glass, wood, metal and neon sculptures and a large window installation; Breadon’s figurative works will explore his Celtic culture and imagery and the artists’ role as storyteller.
