I retired from teaching in 2003; and in the fall of 2004, I decided to pursue my interest in art by enrolling in a drawing class at Cameron University. I had never painted before, so in the spring of 2006 I took my first painting class, which was taught with oils, and really, really liked the medium. I continue to work primarily in that medium, although I like others.

I like my family, and I like to be around positive, happy people.

I volunteer at the Pregnancy Resource Center, and enjoy that tremendously.

Having grown up on a farm, you think I would like tomatoes, but I don't.

On a more serious note, I don't appreciate people who always feel sorry for themselves. It's easy to get in that mindset, but my philosophy is "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!"

I walk, exercise five days a week (usually), and have done that for years.

Wonderfu paintings, I wished I could have painted like yourself, I can sculpt but can not paint. Great work

Yeah! One person rescued from the villainous grip of the Longhorn faithful. Actually I have to tread a moderately neutral Red River line since I have a niece that graduated from UT. So it's a friendly rivalry in our family.

Thanks for your comments on "Where's the Easy Button". That one was a big challenge for me. Keeping rich reds while creating the nuances of value ended up being quite difficult. But, if it came easy it would get boring...and where's the fun in boring?

Hi Donna, I just noticed you're in Oklahoma. My family and I are displaced Sooners. We lived in Chickasha for a couple decades and I got my degree in Art from USAO. All three of our children were born in Norman and we still bleed Crimson and Cream. Also, I was a Graphic Designer for Channel 9 back in the late '90s. Have a great 2009!   -Don
