Some classical; favorites are Bach, Mozart, Chopin. For feel-good music I like old school R&B; Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, early Stevie Wonder, CCR, Eva Cassidy. I also enjoy some Bluegrass.

The Bible, C.S Lewis' Narnia tales and the space trilogy, Solzhenitzyn, Tolkien, James Harriot, Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn for pure fun, James Thurber, Robinson Crusoe, lots and lots of art books - standouts are Philip Pearlstein, Thomas Moran, Sargent, Caravaggio, Mary Cassatt, and Rembrandt. Bill Watterson and Gary Larson are also favorites. As you've guessed by now (esp. from my movie list), I love to laugh.

Favorites include: The Freshman, Back to the Future 1 & 3, Harvey, Ben-Hur, Return to Me, Finding Forester, Oh Brother Where Art Thou? Buster Keaton films, The Terminal, Castaway (when is the sequel coming?), Love in the Afternoon -with Gary Cooper (who had the most handsome face and physical grace of any movie star, EVER), Adam's Rib, also sillies like Baby's Day Out and Pink Panther

I'm a mom of 5, a wife, and an artist. I've been an artist the longest. Google my name if you're curious. Or you can find out about my work, awards, etc. on my website www.DianaMosesBotkin.com with links to my other sites, including my Painting a Day blog.

Rosy afternoon light on the snow (alpenglow), storms, chiaroscuro light on faces, people's hands, sleeping children and more of the beauty on this earth... all wonderful evidence of the Creator's love.

adultery, perversity, cruelty and other abuses

Really... who reads this stuff anyway? However, when I'm not painting I might be writing articles for Art Calendar, gardening, wine-making, or doing the laundry (this might as well be a hobby). I usually cook here at home too because my family continues to want to eat several times a day.

thank you for your comments and i´m curious, did you pursue any ideas!? i had a look at your gallery and i thought your paintings looked very intimate with a glow in them and gorgeous views (of idaho?) wine making sounds enchanting, i live in wine country here in spain (penedes denomination) & i feel so fortunate to look out of my window & see the lush vineyards gleaming in the mediterranean light, what a delight!

Dear Keith, Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. And I do hope my work reflects the gifts God has bestowed; redemption most importantly, family, abilities, even time to paint. I'm very thankful to know that others get a glimpse of that.

Yes, the testimony of Sgt. York's faith in the movie is wonderful. It's refreshing to see that, esp. in this day and age of so much violence and immorality on the screen.

Double majors of Art History and Art History?! (You must love art history.) I'm very happy to make your acquaintance and hope to hear more from you sometime. Blessings to you and your family and please tell your wife if she ever gets up here to north Idaho, we can watch Harvey together.

Diana, Thank you for befriending me. Your work is lovely, it seems spiritually connected to your world up there in Idaho. I guess that's not surprising. I'm very glad to make this connection. Alison

I don't dance anymore, I had a sport accident and damaged my left knee very badly.

Thank you, Manuela. I'm happy to hear my work has blessed you! Dance is such a part of my soul too. Like music, it reaches deep.
