Deb, thanks so much for your kind commment.  I love the southwest and go to Sedona as often as I can.  It is so beautiful where you live and paint...and the paint dries faster!  Happy Painting! Sandy

Thanks for the kind words about my self portrait and the untitled water media experimentation. The self portrait was a linocut print. I was inspired by the works of Barry Moser, especially this print http://mdah.state.ms.us/pubs/mhn/moser_2.jpg

I love how a bunch of lines can actually form a human visage. The water media piece actually has some oil pastels in the mix. There's also wax resistence and watercolor and possibly some ink. I get going and can't remember what I threw in it at times! Great hearing from you- take care JK

Yes I am working on another print now,  doing it again.  I am looking into something called solar plate printing too, offered at the local printmaking studio.  The water pastels have annoying globs which translate to blotches on the image, got to get more meticulous about those, and prep the image more carefully.  The running Stag was pretty quickly drawn. Since it works on plexi glass and denril, I can actually trace the drawing through on the clear plate, which saves time when doing multiples.

Deborah,

I posted that experimental print, at last....I know you've been on pins and needles, sorry...Hope you like it!  The details about it are in the comments after you click on the image in my gallery.

I bought these soft water based pastels at Pearl, and made a rich full color 10x10 drawing.

Ok, then all this printmaking inspired me to dust off the press!

So I ran it through with a piece of wet 150# paper on top.  I pulled three images, adding a little to the "plate" as I went. I even scraped some off I didn't like.  Multicolor monotypes.

I think oil based ink is better, but getting immediate results with these caran'd'ache type crayons was definitely easy, probably easy enough to print one image by hand.

So I thought you might be interested, that it would work with your 'balloons' and it might help you feel in charge of your awesome talents!
