Hi there!
I live way up in the Northwest, about a mile from the water. I have been a heavy equipment mechanic and metal worker for 30 years, I'm beat! I need to switch to a full time Art art career due to slowly changing into a physical wreck. I have never attended any art class, college, or school, besides the school of hard knocks! I have been drawing since grade school, and changed to painting over the years. I have experimented with many different medium over the years. Part of my work includes photography, although I don't claim to be a photographer, and go by the name D.F. forkelheimer as such....... I paint almost exclusively in acrylics, and tend to take a long time finishing my paintings, sometimes an hour or two after coming home from work is all I can get done... Many of my works were compiled in the 10 years I spent in northern Michigan. I am very eclectic in my interests, in the art field. I will add to my gallery as time permits, and hope to have new works soon. A lot of my work is very time consuming, as you can probably see. ...Craig

Living in harmony with something besides a cell phone and a computer. (My own hypocrisy of course) Anything that really has nothing much to do with our imprint on the planet. Waking up for one more day!

Same old political crap...same people... different toga's. Our current state of lets use it all now, well fix it all later mode of civilization. People who consider a forest, a farm....need I say more?

Intricate inlaid wood turning, creating unique items. Gardening with water features. The great outdoors. Figuring how to make a living out of this talent that was somehow given to me.....

I used to have an album called Butterfly Ball, have you ever heard of it? It was a movie but I liked the record better.

Sorry it has taken me a while to respond. Your comment of that barrel picture was great. What place did you work at....doesn't sound very fun...

Craig, I espeecially like your paintings of the old vehicles.  I was in your area last week.  Drove through Sequim to get to Port Angelos where I spent the day painting on the Spit.

Hi Craig, What kind of prints do you make? What kind of printer and paper? I'm really interested in finding the best. I've been usuing an Espon Stylus 2100 and printing on archival water color and the results are good, but I'm always open to hear of improvements.

For someone with no formal training, your work is very good. Keep up the good work

Hi Craig,  I just noticed your comment on my tulip painting today!   I never got a message on it... Wow, that is really cool what you saw!  And it made me feel very good today to read your comment!

I like your new mushroom painting..is this also one from back in the day...or is it a new one?  I found an  amazing artist on line yesterday and I noticed she uses a lot of the same mushrooms in her paintings, it reminded me of you, here is a link you can take a look.

Whatever path you took to get where you are, it is working = great work!  Somehow I always pick out the art from the northwest.  My favorite part of the country.

I agree your work is eclectic, but quiet interesting. I lived in Seattle for 8 years and love the Sequim area. My husband and I escape the heat of the desert where we live in the summer by going to Washington.
