I was born in Warrensburg, Missouri and now live in Kansas City. I have enjoyed drawing ever since junior high school, creating cartoons, whimsical graphics, realistic or abstract paintings and drawings. I went on to study art in college receiving my BFA in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute. After college I became interested in photography and worked for years as a photo retoucher and digital imager. I have been in many juried and group shows with my photographs and collages. As of late I’ve been making my way back to painting and drawing. In the last few years I have been very excited about the creation of my colored pencil drawings. Using the medium of colored pencils to make art is creative, fun and spontaneous. You can pick up a pencil anytime. I love it.
