Thank you for your comment!  I just signed up yesterday, so it's taking me some time to figure out "how to comment back!".  I did see your gallery yesterday, and I DO LOVE your technique!  I sometimes try to go into that direction, but find myself a creature of habit.  I especailly love the dog portrait.  Your use of light is inspirational.

Thank you for your comments on my painting, "Basket of Daisies."  I love your portraits.  I enjoy doing portraits, too.   Looks like you enjoy trying different titles of painting watercolors like I do.  The way you handled the background on the little girl is terrific.  I love it!

Thank you so much for your comment on Valley of Fire. Yes, it's hard to even imagine the intensity of the colors with the sun unless you actually see it.

Best, Alston

Thanks for visiting.  How wonderful to see your fine use of the medium.  Isn't the creative process wonderful?

I am not sure yet how to reply to the comments left at the art work, so I replied there and here as well.

I thought this one was so messy. Thank you for your encouragement. I do not get to communicate with many artists, so your comments are very helpful.

The way you show dark and light in your work is great. How do you do it? Waterclors are not easy to manipulate. I am trying to do the same in my oil paintings.
Thank you for visiting my page.

Thanks, Bruce, for your comments on "A Fine Mess". This was one that I had to fight all the way to completion and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. So, your remarks came at a good time. Thanks again,   -Don

Thanks for the comment about my work! You have some beautiful pieces here, yourself. I enjoy how loose and free your watercolors are. All the best to you!
