Mood Paintings

Although landscape painting is my forte, I've found painting to be the best therapy. Last year was a year for changes, not all good, and I spent a good deal of time painting through my emotions. SOMETIMES LOVE HURTS is a painting I have enjoyed working on for several months. Totally different from anything I've ever done, it expresses so many moods: dismay, regret, hopelessness, then faith, gratitude, and a hope I cling to.

Do other artists respond this way, when life turns upside down?
