I painted a picture on a piece of 9x12 linen, but forgot that there would be a one inch white border all around it. It is an oil painting, but mats looked horribleand are rather expensive. This painting is not on stretchers, so I gllued it to a masonite board. So far, so good. NOW WHAT? I decided to gold leaf the border ...had some of that on hand...Then, when I ran out of that, I used gold metal leaf-it was much easier to work with. The result isn't bad...I have a piece that can be put into any 9x12" frame.....I don't know how to load the picture HTML......I may upload one on my members page..let me know what you think.
