Caregivers Dinner

This evening I joined about 50 others for a "Caregiver's Dinner" in one of our local churches. I wasn't going, but changd my mind at the last minute.

It was fun to be out among many people who live and care for a husband, mother, father, sibling. They all know what I go through every day.

"If you don't take care of yourself as number one, you will get mentally and physically ill," the first speaker said.

I felt like the poster person for the ''overdone careiver." Both hands in braces, and could hardly walk to the dinner table.

The back surgeon said two vertebre have collapsed and it would be too complicated for surgery, so another doctor in his office will give me epidermal cortizone shots (outch!) The basal joints of both hands, right hand first (i'm left handed).

In the meantime, I am trying to get much done, as I don't kow when I'll have my hands back,
